The Baijiahu Fund Salon, themed “Gathering in Jiangning, Building for the Long Term”, has recently opened in Jiangning District. The event brought together representatives from fund companies, securities firms, banks, sci-tech innovation financial services platforms, and universities, listed companies, specialized high-growth SMEs, high-tech enterprises and sci-tech innovation companies in the district. Agreements were signed on site for 10 cooperative funds and 28 prospective investment projects, providing fresh financial support for Jiangning’s industrial development.
At the salon, Jiangning District unveiled five flagship action plans to support listed companies, focusing on capital and fund support, opening up application scenarios, industry-academia-research collaboration, improving the quality of companies in the IPO pipeline, and joint talent development. Six institutions were awarded the title of “Jiangning Fund Ambassador”. The district also introduced the “Eight Measures for Venture Capital in Jiangning”, which include provisions such as follow-on investment without additional due diligence for companies on a designated whitelist, evaluating projects through competitions, and establishing fault-tolerance and exemption mechanisms. The measures are designed to reduce barriers for investors and encourage them to invest at an earlier stage and in smaller companies.
Two lists, one for fund products and the other for financing needs, were also released at the event. More than 400 companies reported combined financing needs totaling RMB 22.5 billion. The “Fund Supermarket”, a new function of “Bang Ning Ban” (Jiangning District’s one-stop comprehensive enterprise service platform), was launched at the same time. Focusing on companies’ financing needs, the platform leverages government data to facilitate industry-finance matching, enabling companies to submit their financing needs online and receive ongoing connections with potential investors and financial institutions. The service is designed to provide enterprises with convenient and efficient access to financing.
Jiangning currently has four major parent funds: the Venture Capital Fund-of-Funds, Industrial Investment Fund-of-Funds, State-Owned Enterprise Fund-of-Funds, and Huatai Yanghe Fund-of-Funds. Together, they oversee 82 sub-funds with a combined fund size of more than RMB 80 billion, supporting all of Jiangning’s key industrial sectors. Over the next three years, Jiangning will continue to strengthen its fund matrix and improve its industry-finance ecosystem, with the goal of increasing the district’s total fund size to more than RMB 100 billion.
