On August 16, the 2026 Cross-Strait (Kunshan) Conference on Artificial Intelligence Industry Development was held. More than 450 entrepreneurs from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered to seize the opportunities presented by the AI development and explore new space for cross-Strait integrated development. Guo Jinlong, chairman of the mainland-based council of the Cross-Strait CEO Summit, Liu Chao-shiuan, chairman of the Taiwan-based council of the summit, Zhang Ping, vice chairman of the mainland-based council, and Fan Bo, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, attended related events.

Suzhou is currently strengthening its full AI industry chain cluster and developing new quality productive forces suited to local conditions, with the aim of becoming an internationally competitive “smart manufacturing city”. To promote deeper cross-Strait participation in the AI development, leading enterprises including Luxshare, Huguang and WUS Printed Circuit, together with HIECO and the Cross-Strait AI Industry Development Fund, jointly initiated the establishment of the Cross-Strait AI Industry Development Alliance. Based in Suzhou and Kunshan, the alliance will focus on four areas of joint technology R&D, resource sharing, joint standards development and joint market expansion to advance cross-Strait AI cooperation from “supply-chain complementarity” toward “innovation-chain symbiosis.” The Cross-Strait AI Industry Development Fund, with a total size of RMB 3 billion, was also launched at the event. The fund will focus on areas including AI servers, embodied intelligence, and intelligent connected vehicles, helping advance breakthroughs in key technologies and expand industrial and commercial applications.

At the conference, business representatives from both sides shared their experiences in AI applications and their observations and insights into industry trends. Following the conference, the guests visited the themed exhibition “AI Empowers the Future.”
