The Chinese and Mathematics exams of the 2026 National College Entrance Examination (also known as “Gaokao”) concluded smoothly on June 7, which were organized in a secure and orderly manner across the province, and received steady feedback from the public.

On the morning of June 7, when inspecting relevant work at Jiangsu Provincial Education Examination Authority, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Governor of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government stressed that all organizational, service and support work must be carried out with an utmost sense of responsibility to safeguard a safe, transparent and caring Gaokao.

Under the strong leadership of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, local authorities across the province made meticulous plans for the organizational work, delivered thoughtful services for examinees, and strived to create a regulated, orderly, warm and harmonious environment for the Examination.

The Provincial Department of Education conducted joint duty shifts with multiple authorities including publicity, cyberspace administration, industry and information technology, public security, health, big data, market regulation, letters and visits, confidentiality, armed police, fire and rescue, meteorology, communications administration and power supply.

The Provincial Education Examination Authority sent dedicated teams to conduct on-site inspections in some areas, and monitored all exam venues province-wide via an online surveillance system.

The exam for the first elective subject (Physics or History) will start at 9:00 a.m. on June 8, followed by the foreign language test at 3:00 p.m. The Provincial Education Examination Authority reminds all examinees once again to bear the exam schedule in mind, strictly abide by the code of conduct for the Examination, prepare calmly and sit the Examination with integrity.
