updated on:2026-05-19 09:05

The 4th Changzhou Conference on Specialty Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry Development and Changzhou “Hundred Events, Thousand Enterprises” Industrial Chain Integration and Improvement Matchmaking Event, was held in Wujin District, Changzhou. Longcheng Chip Valley, a new semiconductor industrial hub in the Wujin National High-Tech Zone dedicated to specialty semiconductor manufacturing, has welcomed its first 10 projects. The Valley covers a planned area of 443 mu (about 29.5 hectares) and is scheduled for delivery this June.

During the conference, the Xinhe Jingsheng Fund was launched with a total value of 431 million yuan, focusing primarily on AI computing power, photonic chips, and optoelectronic materials. Nine new specialty semiconductor projects were also signed in the Wujin National High-Tech Zone, including that of Dawning Semi Technology Co., Ltd. and Phase-II projects of Vertilite and ChemSemi. Among them, Dawning Semi’s world-first single-wavelength 200G silicon photonic chip project is expected to begin production by the end of October. Once fully operational, it is projected to generate an annual output value of up to 2 billion yuan.

In recent years, leveraging its strong manufacturing base, Changzhou has strategically developed its specialty semiconductor industry, focusing on key segments such as power devices, compound semiconductors, and optical communication components. The city has forged a distinctive and differentiated development path, becoming an essential part of Jiangsu Province’s integrated circuit industry landscape. By 2025, Changzhou was home to more than 150 semiconductor enterprises, with the sector generating nearly 50 billion yuan in output value.
