To address new security risks arising from AI application in the manufacturing sector, Jiangsu has formulated Guidelines for AI Application Security in Manufacturing Sector (2026 Edition), a work organized by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. The Guidelines, which highlighted the essential in AI application security, offered valuable guidance for enterprises in setting up security framework.

The 2026 edition, echoing the latest trend of AI application and catering to the differences in the level of AI application and security needs of enterprises of various sizes across different manufacturing scenarios, sorted the classical application scenarios from the 2025 edition into three categories, namely entry level, basic level, and advanced level, and provided solutions accordingly. Specifically, it included nine cases at entry level, 20 at basic level, and 31 at advanced level. It is expected that the new Guidelines will assist industrial enterprises in building more resilient, reliable, and controllable AI systems to ensure safe and secure AI governance throughout the manufacturing lifecycle from product design and technology research and development to data usage and system operation, with an ultimate goal to better empower the transformation and upgrade the manufacturing sector with AI technology.
