Gaochun’s Century-old Lantern Parade Revived

On February 7, the century-old Lantern Parade, a traditional folk performance was held once again after a suspension of over 10 years in the Sunjiadang natural village within Danhu Village, Yangjiang Town, Gaochun District of Nanjing. Flags and banners were fluttering to the rhythmic beats of drums and gongs. In the 40-person lantern parade, performers dressed up as classic characters from the Three Kingdoms and the Generals of the Yang Family to revive this traditional folk art through dance, martial arts, drama, and music with changing formations.
