Suqian City held a press conference on the development of a new digital and intelligent city recently, releasing relevant details about the project. The project will be implemented through a five-year plan and a three-year action plan, which will put in place different scenarios for applications of digital and smart technologies as well as a new OPC (one person company) model to encourage entrepreneurship.

According to the plan, Suqian will strive to achieve an upgrade from a renowned e-commerce city to a new digital and intelligent city by 2030. Specifically, by 2028, the city’s total industrial output of the digital economy will be hitting 200 billion yuan, with the output value of the AI industry cluster reaching 72 billion yuan. Another 600 digital economy enterprises above designated size will be created and over 5,000 professionals in the digital and intelligent sector will be produced annually.

Suqian has compiled the List of Demonstrative Scenarios for AI Application in Suqian City to facilitate the “100 Scenarios for AI Application Project”. Currently, the city has worked out 165 application scenarios across 44 subcategories in nine major areas including public services and healthcare. In support of OPCs empowered by AI technology, Suqian has put forth the vision of building a “City of OPC Entrepreneurship”, and has introduced 10 supporting special policy measures.
