A notice recently issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has identified the first batch of candidates for developing the National Emerging Industry Development Demonstration Bases, which includes 21 industrial parks and 112 enterprises. Two industrial parks and eight enterprises from Jiangsu Province have made the list.
The selection for the eligible candidates officially started this March. Pivoting on key emerging industry sectors, including next-generation information technology, new energy, new materials, high-end equipment, intelligent and connected new energy vehicles, green and environmental protection, low-altitude equipment, and aerospace, the initiative aims to develop approximately 100 industrial parks and 1,000 enterprises into National Emerging Industry Development Demonstration Bases by 2035. A period of two years will be given to the candidates in the first batch. Upon its expiration, the MIIT will conduct evaluations and acceptance inspections on these candidates. The qualified ones will be officially designated as “National Emerging Industry Development Demonstration Bases”, whose exemplary practices will be reviewed and shared.
The breakdown of industrial park candidates shows that Suzhou Industrial Park makes the entry in the sector of bio-manufacturing, while Xuzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone in the sector of safety and emergency equipment. The eight corporate candidates from Jiangsu include Inovance Automotive (Suzhou), Changzhou PNE, Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Technology & Equipment, Innovent Biologics (Suzhou), Wecare Probiotics (Suzhou), Suzhou Leaderdrive Technology, Estun Automation, and XCMG Fire-Fighting Safety Equipment, which fall under sectors including intelligent and connected new energy vehicles, advanced energy storage manufacturing, clean and low-carbon hydrogen, bio-manufacturing, intelligent robotics, and safety and emergency equipment.
