Taicang Port’s Vehicle Exports Exceed 1 Million Units This Year
updated on:2026-10-23 08:20

Statistics show that from January to September this year, vehicle exports through Taicang Port exceeded 1 million units to reach 1.08 million, up by more than 80 percent year on year. Exports in September alone totaled approximately 160,000 units, setting a new single-month record, with destinations spanning 168 countries and regions worldwide.

To ensure fast customs clearance and shipment for large volumes of vehicles, the Taicang Port Administrative Committee has closely aligned with the needs of enterprises and terminals. Working alongside port authorities including customs, maritime safety and border inspection, it has set up a dedicated task force and a special service window for vehicle exports, rolling out appointment-based and online services across the board. In response to frequent shipment batches and tight delivery schedules, staff members have guided companies in standardizing customs procedures and tracked the progress of port assembly and vessel loading in real time. Meanwhile, a “fast-track channel” for vehicle exports has been launched, and vehicle storage yards have been expanded by over 40,000 square meters, steadily boosting the port’s handling capacity. Furthermore, the validity period of border inspection administrative permits has been extended to enable “immediate loading upon berthing”, helping enterprises increase loading efficiency by more than 20 percent.
