On September 4, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the 2025 List of 5G Factories, covering 48 industries and 560 projects. Jiangsu had 91 factories included, accounting for 16.25% of the national total, ranking first nationwide in both new additions and overall number.

The newly added 91 factories in Jiangsu are mainly concentrated in specialized equipment manufacturing industries such as automobiles, photovoltaics, cables, robotics, computers, chemicals, telecommunications, and other electronic equipment. Among them, Suzhou City ranks first in the province with 14 selected factories, followed by Nantong City (13 factories) and Yancheng City (11 factories), which take the second and third places in the province respectively.

At present, Jiangsu has a total of 301 5G factories. Data shows that the per capita sales revenue of Jiangsus smart factories is 22 times the national average, the unit product cost is only one-ninth of the national level, and the comprehensive energy consumption per unit product is significantly better than both the national average and the levels of other major industrial provinces.

The release of the 2025 Directory of 5G Factories by MIIT aims to advance innovation in the integration of 5G + Industrial Internet and accelerate the construction of high-standard 5G factories. These projects will play a demonstrative and leading role, helping enterprises in various industries realize digital and intelligent transformation and network-based connectivity, thereby promoting their transformation and upgrading.
