In the first half of the year, Jiangsu Province led the country in key indicators of foreign trade and investment, according to a press conference held on July 30.

Jiangsu attracted $11.54 billion in actual foreign investment during this period, maintaining its position as China’s top destination for foreign capital. The province also took advantage of the expansion of comprehensive pilot programs to accelerate its opening up of service sector. This included initiatives in Nanjing and Suzhou, such as expanding market access and piloting foreign-funded hospitals.

Jiangsu also achieved stable progress in international cooperation, adding more than 800 new overseas investment projects. More than half of these projects were located in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
