Jiangsu Province’s total imports and exports reached 3.31 trillion yuan in the first seven months of this year, up 5.2% year-on-year, according to Nanjing Customs.
This growth was 1.7 percentage points higher than the national average, with the province accounting for 12.9% of China’s total trade in goods during the period.
During the same period, Jiangsu’s trade with Belt and Road Initiative countries increased 10.2% to represent 49.7% of the provincial total. Trade with ASEAN countries and the EU grew by 21.2% and 3.3%, respectively.
Jiangsu’s exports of mechanical and electrical products expanded 10.7%, accounting for 69% of the province’s total exports, while imports of such products rose 3.2%. Notably, imports of flat panel display modules and computers (including parts) went up 10.3% and 28.8%, respectively.
