According to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, since the launch of the “Jiangsu Improved Housing Evaluation System”, a total of 36 projects have completed preliminary evaluations and have been made public. Project developers have pledged responsibility for the authenticity of their submitted data and evaluation results and have voluntarily agreed to government oversight and public supervision.
To promote the development of safe, comfortable, green, and smart “good housing,” the province has introduced a couple of policy measures, including the Measures to Support Housing Quality Improvement and the Evaluation Guidelines for Improved Housing. These regulations stipulate that evaluations may only be carried out after projects have passed all required final and specialized inspections. Both preliminary and final evaluations classify projects into three levels based on total scores: A-level: 60-69 points; AA-level: 70-79 points; AAA-level: 80 points and above. Several projects received AAA ratings in the preliminary evaluation stage, including the Jinlingxu Garden by China Merchants Group in Nanjing, Cangwu Yuyuan in Lianyungang, Longqing Garden in Yangzhou, Jinyu Lanting in Xuzhou, Xiangjiang Qihaoyuan in Lianyungang and Fenglinyuan in Danyang.
