Jiangsu Province is home to six of China’s top 10 economically strongest counties, including the top three, according to the latest Research Report on High-quality Development of China's Top 100 Counties.

This report was released by CCID consulting on July 23 at the 2025 Innovation and Development Forum for Counties in Beijing. In total, 25 counties from Jiangsu were recognized in the ranking.

Focusing on new industrialization, new urbanization, rural revitalization, and common prosperity, the report outlines the emerging characteristics and strategies for high-quality development in county-level economies.

Despite accounting for only around 2% of China’s land area and 7% of its population, the top 100 counties contribute more than 10% of the national GDP. Representing just 5% of all counties, they collectively generate 26.5% of the total GDP produced at the county level.

Among provinces, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong stands out with 25, 15, and 12 counties that are ranked in the top 100.
