As part of efforts to enhance the international visibility and influence of the “Charm of Jiangsu” culture and tourism brand, a delegation from Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism visited Hungary and Romania from June 17 to 20, carrying out a series of cultural and tourism exchange and promotional activities.
On June 17, the “Charm of Jiangsu: Discovering History Through Museums” Cultural and Creative Products & Printmaking Special Exhibition, along with a museum dialogue session, was inaugurated at the China Cultural Center in Budapest, Hungary. In the “Discovering History Through Museums” exhibition, the ancient lineage of Jiangsu was woven into the narrative of cultural relics with eight themed sections such as Charm of the Prehistoric Era, Charm of Wu Culture Bronze, Charm of Han Dynasty, and Charm of Six Dynasties. Through a combination of images and physical artifacts, the exhibition showcased cultural and creative products that reflect treasured relics from various historical periods of Jiangsu. Running concurrently, the “Charm of Jiangsu: Woodcut Print Exhibition”, presented by the Jiangsu Art Museum, featured 20 outstanding woodcut prints. These works vividly tell the story of Jiangsu from unique artistic perspectives, offering a comprehensive portrayal of the province’s rich cultural heritage.
On June 20, the cultural and tourism promotion event “Tea for Harmony: Jiangsu Cultural Salon” was held at the China Cultural Center in Bucharest, Romania. Centered on Jiangsu’s rich tea culture, the event featured three themed sections: “Famous Teas & Scenic Views”, “Fragrant Tea, Elegant Jiangsu”, and “Tea Tourism in Jiangsu”. These segments vividly showcased the historical depth of Jiangsu’s tea traditions and the achievements of its modern integration of tea culture with tourism. During the event, musicians from China and Romania gave a joint performance of the classic Jiangsu folk song Jasmine Flower and the traditional Romanian piece BALADA. In the tea tourism promotion session, Jiangsu folk music artists performed pieces such as Picking Lotus, Spring Scenery of Jiangnan, and Picking Tea Leaves and Chasing Butterflies, bringing the local audience closer to Jiangsu culture.
