On June 19, Xu Kunlin, Governor of Jiangsu Province, met in Nanjing with visiting Premier Elijah Asilaua of Malaita Province of the Solomon Islands, and signed an agreement on establishing a sister-province relationship.

Xu highlighted the growing exchanges between Jiangsu and the Solomon Islands in recent years, with notable progress in areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, and education.

He said that the establishment of the sister-province relationship marks a new starting point for strengthening cooperation with Malaita Province, and will be conductive to the agricultural technology exchanges and talent training between the two sides.

Premier Asilaua expressed the hope to deepen collaboration with Jiangsu in trade, agriculture and education, among other fields, and to foster a lasting friendship.
