A recent event titled “Greater Bay Area-Yangtze River Delta Exchange Activity on Technological Innovation and Industrial Cooperation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles” was successfully held in Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, co-sponsored by Xinhua Daily Media Group, China Management Science Society, and organized by the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Development Management Office. Under the theme “Smart Sky City, Creating the Future Together”, the event brought together over 150 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and government officials from the Greater Bay Area and Yangtze River Delta to explore opportunities in the low-altitude economy.
At the event, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area unveiled its “Smart Sky City” plan, featuring three core parts: intelligent networked infrastructure, a full low-altitude industrial chain, and featured urban application scenarios. By 2027, the area aims to establish 35 low-altitude takeoff/landing facilities, over 10 flight routes, and attract more than 10 leading enterprises in low-altitude industry, with significant growth expected in the sector’s economic scale.
To address common challenges in low-altitude aircraft manufacturing, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area announced plans to build a specialized “shared factory” for UAV production. This innovative initiative seeks to reshape the manufacturing ecosystem through resource integration and efficiency sharing, reducing costs for businesses.
