According to Jiangsu Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, the province distributed a total of RMB 2.08 billion in elderly allowances in 2024, benefiting 3.32 million residents aged 80 and above. Under the current policy, Jiangsu provides monthly allowances to seniors aged 80 and older who hold permanent residence registration in the province. For seniors aged 80 to 99, the specific allowance standards are set by municipal and county-level governments. For centenarians, the allowance is no less than RMB 300 per person per month. Applications can be submitted both online and offline. Several cities, including Zhenjiang and Lianyungang, have introduced “no-application-needed” services that automatically disburse the allowance once recipients reach the eligible age, using their social security cards.
