The inauguration ceremony of Taihu (Wuxi) International Commercial Arbitration Centre, together with the “Jiangsu Foreign-Related Arbitration ” event, was recently held in Wuxi.
The Centre will benchmark itself against international best practices and focus on key areas such as international goods trade, cross-border investment, M&A restructuring, international engineering contracting, and modern finance. By integrating high-quality arbitration resources, it aims to provide enterprises with accessible and professional international commercial arbitration services. At the ceremony, the Wuxi Arbitration Commission appointed 122 international arbitrators—including Chen Fayun and Sun Hanji—who bring extensive experience in resolving cross-border commercial disputes. The Commission also signed MoUs on cooperation with the Wuxi chambers of commerce in the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and Australia to deepen collaboration in arbitration services, talent development, and communications. The Centre will further explore mechanisms to better connect arbitration with litigation and mediation, enhance coordination with legal representation, notarization, and expert appraisal services, and build a full-chain, one-stop, and internationalized legal-commercial service system.
