On the second day of the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), the Dialogue Between Nantong and Multinational Corporations was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Representatives from over 140 multinational corporations, chambers of commerce, associations, and investment and financing institutions from more than 20 countries and regions attended the event.

With the theme of “Opening Up for New Opportunities, Cooperating for a Shared Future”, the event showcased Nantong’s opening up and development to participants from three perspectives, namely, an open city supported by national strategies, an industrial city with great potentials, and a livable, business-friendly city, inviting enterprises from across the world to invest in Nantong. Representatives from four enterprises, including Scania, Merck, Cargill, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, shared their cooperation experiences with Nantong.

Up to now, Nantong has utilized nearly USD 55 billion in cumulative foreign investment. The city hosts more than 3,800 foreign-invested enterprises, including 77 Fortune Global 500 companies with over 160 investment projects.
