On October 11, the provincial government held a conference on advancing major project construction to coordinate and promote ongoing efforts, as well as to strengthen the planning, attraction, and reserve of major projects for the coming year. The meeting aimed to provide solid support for consolidating and expanding the momentum of economic recovery and growth.
The conference emphasized the need to fully implement the decisions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, along with the requirements of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government. It called for simultaneous efforts to accelerate project construction this year and to prepare project applications for next year, striving for tangible progress in major project development.
It was stressed that project construction should proceed as swiftly as possible: ongoing projects should deliver more physical progress, reserved projects should strive for early commencement, and completed projects should speed up production and yield results. The meeting also underscored the importance of compiling next year’s project list with high quality, focusing on key areas, and increasing support for private investment. The conference called for continuous improvement in the quality and effectiveness of investment promotion to further strengthen the reserve of major projects. It urged maintaining a clear focus on prioritizing large-scale projects and treating investment promotion as a top priority now and throughout the entire 15th Five-Year Plan period. To create favorable conditions for projects to take effect as early as possible, the meeting called for optimal service guarantees—strengthening task forces, implementing transparent and coordinated oversight throughout the process, improving services, and ensuring reasonable allocation and coordinated management of resources such as land, forest, and ocean based on the assessment of environmental capacity. Additionally, continuous efforts to facilitate government-bank-enterprise cooperation are crucial to fully supporting the construction of major projects.
The conference urged all departments to work together and expedite the implementation of project advancement tasks. It also emphasized that all regions should proactively tackle challenges, overcome difficulties, and demonstrate a sense of responsibility to contribute to the province’s investment expansion and growth stabilization efforts.
