The opening ceremony of “Travelling on the Right Path-Jiangsu Art Exhibition Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China” was held at Jiangsu Modern Art Gallery on July 12. The event was co-hosted by the Department of Publicity of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Jiangsu Department of Culture and Tourism and Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles , and co-organized by Jiangsu Fine Arts Association and Jiangsu Modern Art Gallery.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Over the years, this land of plenty has been witnessing major progress registered not only in economic and social development but in culture and arts as well. Artists in Jiangsu use brushes and colors to record the societal changes and portray people’s lives. Their creative dynamism has been richly rewarded. “Travelling on the Right Path” art exhibition is thus born. It entails a deep review of the 75-year long splendid history, and an ardent aspiration for a brighter future.

Altogether 144 pieces of art are displayed, among which 101 are Chinese paintings and 43 are oil paintings. Some works express the deep love of China’s grand landscape; some record the great transformations in society; some unveil the happy life of Jiangsu people while others convey the aspiration for a better future. Through their innovative endeavors, artists leverage both the artistic theory and technique of expression to bring about a fine combination of traditional arts with modern techniques, resulting in a batch of fine works that answer the call of our times with profound cultural heritage. These works are the collective wisdom of Jiangsu’s art circle, voicing the best wishes of Jiangsu people to our motherland. The exhibition is on until July 20.
