updated on:2024-04-20 08:58

As the ninth National Security Education Day approaches, the campaigns, organized by the national security authorities of Jiangsu Province, are in full swing to enhance public awareness of protecting national security in compliance with the law.

In recent days, numerous activities have taken place across the province, including visits to national security education bases in Nanjing, Suzhou, and Wuxi. Participants have been engaged in learning about national security issues, identifying various forms of espionage, and fostering a sense of responsibility as guardians of national security.

Chen Si, Head of the Education and Publicity Section at the Jiangsu National Security Education Museum, emphasized the importance of avoiding unlawful behaviors in daily life. This includes refraining from taking photos at military bases or ports and sharing them on social media, as well as preventing the exchange of information between internal networks and external sources. Additionally, individuals are advised against using wireless network cards, wireless mice, keyboards, etc., on computers designated for internal network use.

Recognizing the vital role of young people in safeguarding national security, a series of events have been launched. These include the Communist Youth League Day Activity Week and the Jiangsu National Security Education Tour Exhibition at Colleges and Universities, inaugurated at Nanjing University on April 12. Throughout the activity week, Youth League organizations at all levels in Jiangsu will collaborate with national security agencies to conduct educational sessions, themed classes, exhibitions, and other initiatives aimed at raising awareness among Youth League members.

At Nanjing Agricultural University, students and faculty participated in informative public science activities. These activities featured presentations by customs officers on the risks associated with smuggled “exotic pets”, illustrating the dangers posed by prohibited goods to national security, ecological integrity, public safety, and the well-being of individuals and communities. Colleges, universities, primary and secondary schools, as well as kindergartens in Huai’an, Wuxi, Yancheng, and Changzhou have conducted various forms of national security education for both teachers and students in authentic settings.

“We are committed to organizing all teachers and students to participate in national security education courses alongside millions of university students nationwide. By integrating the Constitution, the National Security Law, the Counter-espionage Law, and other relevant laws and regulations into Civics and Political Science classes, we aim to effectively enhance the awareness of national security among teachers and students,” stated Dong Fei, Deputy Director of the Party Committee Publicity Department at Huaiyin Institute of Technology.
