The Sixth National Agricultural Industry Vocational Skills Competition Animal Disease Controller Skills Competition Final was held in Taizhou recently, with 96 players from 32 provincial teams.

The competition is jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and is one of the series of activities of the 2024 Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival. “To do a good job in animal disease prevention and control under the new situation, it is necessary to build a team of veterinary talent who are skilled in theoretical knowledge and have exquisite skills to support the high-quality development of the cause of animal disease prevention and control and better serve the overall development of animal husbandry and veterinary undertakings.” Chen Weisheng, director of China Animal Disease Control Center, said that the competition aims to build a platform for the majority of animal disease prevention and control workers to open up their horizons, improve their skills and learn from each other, and to inspire and guide China’s veterinarians to study the business, practice their skills, take root at the primary level institutions, and provide more high-quality services.
