updated on:2024-10-13 08:31

The world's most powerful floating wind turbine rolled off the production line on October 10, at the CRRC factory in Sheyang County, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province.

The 24MW unit can generate 62 million kWh of electricity annually, enough to meet the power needs of about 37,000 households for a year. This is equivalent to saving 25,000 tonnes of coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 62,000 tonnes.

At WindEnergy Hamburg on September 24, CRRC unveiled the record-breaking floating wind turbine, drawing global attention.

In the wind power industry, offshore wind resources in deep-sea areas are considered more favorable, and floating wind turbine technology not only offers higher power generation efficiency but also helps optimize sea space utilization.

In recent years, Yancheng has been committed to building a demonstration area for low-carbon development. The city has made comprehensive efforts in the development of offshore wind power, steadily advancing the deep-sea project construction.
