Due to being at the forefront of China's opening-up, the resultant solid foundations and its continuing rapid development, Jiangsu's educational international cooperation and exchanges have always been China's front line. Over recent years, the scope and volume of international cooperation and exchanges in education have resulted in an unprecedented dynamic status for Jiangsu and they have become the catalysts for its rapid speed of progress, with a widening scale and enriched contents. Jiangsu can now be characterized by its comprehensive, multi-leveled and diverse structure of educational change.

In 2010, Jiangsu Provincial Government established the Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship for International Students.
