On March 29, the 15th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award was unveiled in Changzhou, recognizing 116 achievements and individuals. Professor Sun Fuchun from the Department of Computer Science and Technology of Tsinghua University and Professor Song Yongduan, Foreign Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Dean of the the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Chongqing University, received the award.

The Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award is renowned as China’s highest award for intelligent science and technology. Since its establishment in 2011, the award has consistently recognized institutions and individuals that achieved original innovation in the field of AI, made breakthroughs in key technologies, promoted advancements in intelligent science and technology, and generated significant economic and social progress or ecological benefits. The award has been established in Changzhou, largely due to the city’s deep-rooted AI industry base.

During the event, “Intelligence Shaping the Future: Wu Wenjun Award Achievements Landing in Jiangsu” was launched, facilitating targeted matchmaking of top award achievements with Jiangsu’s advantageous industries, and accelerating the formation of new quality productive forces that drive industrial upgrading. The “CAAI-Tencent Rhino-Bird Research Program” was announced, certificates were awarded for the “CAAI-Lenovo Blue Sky Research Fund,” and the “2026 CAAI-Qboson Quantum Computing Application Innovation Fund” was unveiled. A roundtable discussion, “The Code of Winning and Forefront Directions: Wu Wenjun Award Winners Discussing the Path of AI Innovation”, was held to bring together award-winning experts for in-depth exchanges around cutting-edge AI development paths.
