Germany is Jiangsu's largest trading partner in Europe and also the European country that has made the most investments in Jiangsu. According to statistics from Nanjing Customs, Jiangsu's trade volume with Germany was 228.21 billion yuan in 2025, an increase of 3.4% year-on-year.
Among this, exports were 127.78 billion yuan, growing by 4.7% year-on-year. Imports were 100.43 billion yuan, increasing by 1.8% year-on-year.
Taicang, known as the "hometown of German enterprises in Jiangsu", saw its first German-funded company settled in 1993. Today, more than 560 German enterprises have gathered in Taicang.
As one of the key hubs for supply chains and digital innovation, Changzhou is also a gathering place for German enterprises. Now the Sino-German Changzhou Innovation Park is emerging as a favored destination for German companies.
