On January 18, the cable-stayed bridge spanning the Macha River, part of the Nanjing Luhe Grand Bridge on the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High-Speed Railway, was successfully closed. The project was constructed by China Railway Shanghai Engineering Group.
Upon completion, the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High-Speed Railway will establish a new fast transport corridor linking the metropolitan areas of Shanghai, Nanjing and Hefei. The project will play an important role in advancing the development of a “rail-based Yangtze River Delta” and optimizing the layout of the railway network along the Yangtze River.
