The unveiling ceremony for Jiangsu Low-altitude Meteorology Joint Innovation Studio was recently held at Jiangsu Low-altitude Flight Service Center. This marks a new stage in the province’s efforts to enhance precision in meteorological services for low-altitude flights and bolster the development of the low-altitude economy.
Established jointly by Jiangsu Aviation Enterprises Group and Jiangsu Provincial Meteorological Observatory, the studio has created a “three-in-one” comprehensive provincial-level meteorological service solution integrating technological innovation, management mechanism innovation, and digital application innovation. Technically, it has developed 35 core low-altitude meteorological monitoring and warning products across seven categories, achieved breakthroughs in micro-scale low-altitude meteorological alert systems, and established an “AI + Meteorology” 3D big-data middle platform capable of minute-level forecasting with 100-meter resolution. In terms of service models, it pioneered a multi-tiered support system covering “flight planning, pre-flight final review, and post-flight assessment”, while also developing eight types of meteorological risk-warning products. Furthermore, the studio has deployed province-city collaborative meteorological modules within the low-altitude service management platform, supporting diverse scenarios ranging from drone logistics to emergency response and rescue. Since its launch on June 30, the platform has served an average of nearly 400,000 low-altitude unmanned aircraft operations on a daily basis.
