Nantong will implement its regulation on promoting the high-quality development of the private sector starting on January 1, marking the first regional specialized law of its kind in Jiangsu Province.

The 30-article city law includes, among others, launching incubation programs for tech start-ups, improving intellectual property protection, enhancing government service efficiency, and strengthening coordination with other Yangtze River Delta cities.

The Standing Committee of the Nantong People's Congress introduced this legislative project tailored to local conditions.

Nantong is one of the birthplaces of China's modern national industry, and the private sector accounts for nearly 70% of the city's GDP.
