Statistics from Jingjiang Customs show that, from January to September this year, the import and export trade of Jingjiang City reached a new high at 44.57 billion yuan, up by 10.16% year-on-year, six percentage points higher than the national average. In particular, exports reached 38.42 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.73%. 

Since the beginning of this year, Jingjiang’s foreign trade has  demonstrated strong resilience amid challenges and pressure. The first half of the year saw a significant decline in the foreign trade volume of the city compared to the same period last year. However, entering the second half of the year, its foreign trade has steadily recovered, achieving monthly increase with considerable growth margin for three consecutive months. This has resulted in a reverse of decline of Jingjiang’s foreign trade in total as of the end of September, registering a positive growth of 10.16%.

Being the “pillar” in Jingjiang’s foreign trade, the export of high-tech ships, marine engineering, and their supporting products has maintained a strong momentum. Leading companies, represented by New Times Shipbuilding, Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding, and Jiangsu Asia Star Anchor Chain, are capturing the market with high-value-added, high-tech, and green products. Concurrently, a group of well-established companies, including Jingjiang Special Steel, Jiangsu Shangqi Motor, and F.G.L.S Electronics, have risen to the challenges, making a stable contribution to the growth of the foreign trade in Jingjiang.

The leading companies engaging in foreign trade in Jingjiang have shown strong development momentum, playing a major role in driving the foreign trade growth. Among the top ten foreign traders in Jingjiang, five have achieved positive double-digit growth year-on-year.
