According to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the list of 2025 Jiangsu Cultural and Tourism Technology Integration Innovation Projects has been released. A total of 10 projects, including Grand Canal Wonderland—VR Immersive Exploration Exhibition, were selected, outlining a new blueprint for the integration of culture, tourism, and technology across the province.

The Grand Canal Wonderland—VR Immersive Exploration Exhibition, developed by the China Grand Canal Museum in Yangzhou, uses VR technology to transport visitors through a millennium of canal history. At Niushou Mountain in Nanjing, the exclusive AI travel companion “Niu Xiaochan”, powered by the DeepSeek AI large model, provides one-stop intelligent services covering the entire tourism journey — from ticket booking and real-time traffic updates to parking assistance, introduction of scenic spots, and itinerary planning — catering to tourists’ diversified needs for dining, accommodation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment.

The Changzhou Museum’s project, Chronicles of Dragon City—Digital Real-Scenario Study Tour, provides participants with engaging learning experience using “one backpack, one smartphone, and one clue handbook”. The “Chengxin AI” Cultural Tourism Model integrates three core functions: intelligent itinerary planning, a smart tour companion offering real-time voice interaction based on high-precision GPS positioning, and a multilingual intelligent customer service system supporting nine languages.

The Kunshan Chinese Opera Museum’s digital innovation project “Meet Opera, Meet the Future” applies XR technology to bring traditional Chinese opera into modern daily life scenarios. Meanwhile at Shuanglongjing Scenic Area in Lianyungang, Dreamland: Flowers in the Mirror, an immersive light-and-shadow live performance based on the classic novel Flowers in the Mirror, combines giant screen projection, holographic gauze effects, surround sound, and live NPC interactions, creating a fantasy world for visitors.

The “Heavenly Book Wonderland VR Experience” project in Lianyungang transports visitors into a virtual Dongyi village, where they can explore the mysteries of the “Eastern Heavenly Book”. At Xiyou World of Adventure in Huai’an, the “Thousand Drones Dancing Together: Journey to the West Galaxy” show features customized drone performances themed around various festivals. The Ocean Technology Exploration Center at Huai’an Dragon Palace Ocean World integrates cutting-edge technologies such as digital special effects, panoramic imaging, and artificial intelligence to create a three-in-one model combining science popularization, education, and cultural tourism.

The Zhenjiang Museum’s “Three Thousand Years of Zhenjiang” Digital Relief Wall project upgrades the museum’s existing relief wall through digital technology, bringing three millennia of the city’s history to life in an innovative way.
