The Second Zhenjiang Jinshan Talent Week Commences

On the morning of July 28, the Second Zhenjiang Jinshan Talent Week commenced at Jiangsu University. The event was graced by the presence of seven esteemed academicians, over 200 distinguished professionals, and representatives from more than 100 universities and vocational institutions. Over the course of the week, culminating on August 2, the city will host a series of 13 distinctive thematic events.

During the opening ceremony, the municipality of Zhenjiang formalized partnerships with nine universities, solidifying their commitment to a multifaceted collaborative framework. This framework encompasses joint organizational efforts, talent cultivation initiatives, integrated platform development, shared utilization of research outcomes, collaborative event organization, and coordinated service provision. A series of agreements were also signed, including collaborative projects between the campuses and businesses of Jiangsu University, local enterprises, and research institutions, talent collaboration initiatives between modern industrial schools of universities located in Zhenjiang, and projects under the “Jinshan Talent” industrial development plan.

Furthermore, two top-notch talent (or teams) were awarded checks of 10 million yuan as financial support. Ten distinguished professors from universities in Zhenjiang were honored as the inaugural recipients of the “Jinshan Talent Card”, a testament to their high standing in the city. Additionally, the “Jinshan Talent Loan” program was launched, aiming to satisfy the financing needs of talent-supported businesses. The event also witnessed the accreditation of several provincial and municipal joint task forces dedicated to tackling critical core technologies, as well as the recognition of outstanding university talent workstations. Moreover, ten institutions were hired as consulting units of Zhenjiang under the HOME (Help Our Motherland through Elite Intellectual Resources from Overseas) Program.

Zhenjiang has been steadfast in its commitment to the “Jinshan Talent” initiative, employing optimal policies and extending the highest level of courtesy to attract, cultivate, and support talent. Over the past three years, the municipal and county-level governments have collectively allocated over 1.8 billion yuan in specialized funding for talent development, reflecting an average annual growth rate of 25%.
