Jiangsu province promotes the further optimization of payment services

On March 15, Jiangsu province held a meeting to promote the optimization of payment services. Ma Xin, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor, attended and addressed the meeting.

The meeting pointed out that payment is one of the most basic financial services and an indispensable part of economic activities. All localities and relevant departments should fully implement the decisions made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, grasp the political and people-oriented nature of financial undertakings, and take the optimization of payment services as a concrete measure to optimize the business environment, an internal need to promote high-level opening-up, and a key lever to promote high-quality development. Various measures should be taken to facilitate payment services at the same time, improve the multi-level and diversified payment service system, and effectively meet the diversified payment needs of the people.

The meeting emphasized that the focus should be on improving payment convenience for the elderly, foreign nationals, and other people coming to Jiangsu, with highlights on key sectors and areas. It is imperative to adopt problem-oriented and goal-oriented approaches and make precise policies and targeted efforts. This involves effectively improving the environment for bank card acceptance, continuously optimizing cash-use environment, further enhancing mobile payment convenience, expanding the inclusiveness and coverage of payment services in Jiangsu, and improving the convenience and satisfaction of payment services for the aforementioned groups.

The meeting called for strengthening coordination among various parties such as government departments, banking institutions, payment institutions and business entities. Collective efforts are essential to accomplishing key tasks, strengthening publicity, preventing and resolving risks, and creating a safe, convenient and efficient environment of payment services, which will better improve people’s well-being and high-level opening up.

The meeting was held online. Responsible persons in charge of municipal governments, relevant provincial departments, and certain financial institutions attended the meeting.
