The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has concluded the public consultation for the 2024 National Advanced Manufacturing Clusters Competition, with a final list of 35 advanced manufacturing clusters nationwide. Jiangsu Province is prominently featured, with the inclusion of the Suzhou High-end Scientific Instruments Cluster, the Yangtze River Delta (including Jiangxi) Large Aircraft Cluster, the Yancheng-Changzhou-Suqian-Huai’an Photovoltaic Cluster, and the Southern Jiangsu Special Steel Materials Cluster. This brings the total number of national-level advanced manufacturing clusters in Jiangsu to 14, the highest in the country.

The Suzhou High-end Scientific Instruments Cluster, independently applied for by Suzhou City, is centered in the Suzhou Industrial Park. The core area is home to over 700 high-end scientific instrument enterprises, including eight publicly traded companies, with an industry size of nearly 40 billion yuan.

The Southern Jiangsu Special Steel Materials Cluster spans five cities in southern Jiangsu. Nanjing focuses on high-performance special steel sheet production chains, Wuxi on high-end special steel bar production chains, Suzhou on premium special steel wire production chains, Changzhou on high-quality stainless steel production chains, and Zhenjiang on high-end alloy production chains.

The Yancheng-Changzhou-Suqian-Huai’an Photovoltaic Cluster covers the full regions of Yancheng, Changzhou, Suqian, and Huai’an. In 2023, the cluster achieved a total output value of 370.5 billion yuan, accounting for more than one-fifth of the national total.

The Yangtze River Delta (including Jiangxi) Large Aircraft Cluster extends across the entire region of the Yangtze River Delta and Jiangxi Province. Key areas include Shanghai’s Lingang New Area, Jiangsu’s Wuxi, Zhejiang’s Hangzhou, Anhui’s Lu’an, and Jiangxi’s Nanchang.
