A social organization-company-college job fair was held as scheduled from October 30 to 31 as one of the major events of the Eleventh Jiangsu Internet Conference. The job fair was open to fresh graduates in relevant majors of ten-odd universities in Nanjing, including Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology.
The universities sent the graduates to the job fair with designated “job-seeking” buses. This move bridged the gap between job seekers and employers, making the first step in job hunting easier for the graduates. Two distinctive zones were set up at the job fair, one for on-site recruitment, and the other for online recruitment. The former zone accommodated nearly 100 companies offering positions such as engineers, software developers, business operators, and salespersons. The latter zone provided consulting services for specialized employment such as policy interpretation and career guidance to students and companies unable to attend the event on the spot.
This job fair received strong support from Jiangsu Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, Society Work Department of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. Hosted by the Internet Society of Jiangsu Province, the job fair provided more than 2,000 jobs on site. Being part of the “1,000 Social Organizations, 10,000 Jobs” special initiative for social organizations to facilitate employment of college graduates, job fairs of the kind were also held in Nanjing, Nantong, Yangzhou, and Suqian
