On May 19, the sixth meeting of the Provincial Government’s leading group on the development of SMEs was held.

The meeting stressed that SMEs play an important role in promoting innovation and employment and improving people’s livelihood by connecting millions of households. Following General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on promoting the development of SMEs, all cities and departments should earnestly implement the principles set forth by the 10th meeting of the State Council’s leading group on the development of SMEs, prioritize high-quality development, place greater significance on stabilizing growth, and make in-depth research and analysis to identify the prominent difficulties faced by SMEs. They should strengthen the sense of responsibility, increase fiscal and financial support, implement preferential policies to deliver tangible benefit to more SMEs, strengthen protection of their rights and interests, help them expand markets and solve difficulties, so as to enhance their sense of gain. With focus on SMEs that use special and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, they should strengthen echelon building of high-quality SMEs, improve their capability of innovation, intelligent and digital transformation, and continue to enhance their resilience and competitiveness. They should improve the service system, speed up the transformation of government functions, strengthen monitoring and analysis of economic operation, create a first-class business environment with greater influence, continue to consolidate the sound development momentum, and make greater contribution to promoting the overall improvement of provincial economic operation.
