The 2023 Wuxi x Macao Design Week kicked off in Xuelang town of Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Thursday. 

Ten exhibitions and a series of forums, including the Macao Design Award Exhibition, Macao Product Design Exhibition and the City Memory: Essence Exhibition of Macao International Contemporary Illustration Competition, will be held during the week.

Jointly organized by the management committee of the Wuxi Economic Development Zone and Macao's Chinese Cultural Industry Promotion Society, the week aims to promote communication and cooperation between Wuxi and Macao.

During the week, a series of forums, including the Digital Technology Industry Integration and Development Forum and the Cultural and Creative Industry Forum, will also be held to enhance communication between people of Wuxi, Macao and outstanding international designers.

Yang Jianping, secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the management committee of the Wuxi Economic Development Zone, said that Macao's diverse background and cultural integration have created high-quality design works and attracted a large number of talented designers.

"As a famous national historical and cultural city, Wuxi has a long and impressive history, a developed economy and convenient transportation," he said.  "Those conditions can strongly support communication in the design industry of the two cities."
