A few days ago, the 2023 Jiangsu Technology Transfer Working Meeting was held in Nanjing. The meeting showcases that technology market in Jiangsu had been active in 2022, with 87,353 technology contract transactions and a technology contract turnover of RMB 388.858 billion, up by 5.81% and 29.04% year-on-year, ranking among the top in the country.

Technology development contracts still rank first among all types of contracts, accounting for 48.40% of the total turnover, a year-on-year increase of 22.27%. The top three types in turnover are advanced manufacturing, electronic information, and new materials. The turnover of technology contracts in advanced manufacturing reached RMB 144.056 billion, a year-on-year increase of 48.05%. A total of 37,455 technology contracts involving intellectual property rights were registered, with a turnover of RMB 231.19 billion, a year-on-year increase of 73.85%.

In 2022, colleges and universities across Jiangsu released 3,708 scientific and technological achievements, listed 193 scientific and technological achievements, made 34 transactions, and publicized 299 scientific and technological achievements on Jiangsu Proprietary Technology Exchange Center. Throughout the year, a total of 3,366 patents (achievements) of colleges and universities in Jiangsu were selected to participate in the “Patent (Achievements) Auction Season”, and 550 technological solutions were collected to participate in the “J-TOP Innovation Challenge Season”. A total of 480 technology transactions were facilitated, with a total turnover of RMB 207 million, a year-on-year increase of 366.26%.

In addition, in 2022, by putting in place the mechanism of selecting persons-in-charge among competing candidates, Jiangsu has aligned its signature technology transfer event with the national talent, project, and achievement resources of “Torch Scientific and Technological Achievements Express”, promoted the pilot implementation of patent open licensing, and carried out online matchmaking events to connect technology achievements with market demands with focus on 9 key industrial fields. 588 technology transaction projects were facilitated throughout the year, a year-on-year increase of 94.7%, and the transaction value was RMB 302 million, a year-on-year increase of 141.6%.
