In 2020, the annual average concentration of PM2.5 in the urban area of Yangzhou was 36 mcg/m3, down 16.3% year-on-year. The ratio of good air quality days was 80.1%, up 10.5% year-on-year. All nine national monitoring sections met the national standard for water quality and 77.8% were found to have fairly good water quality at or above Grade III. Over 84.4% of 32 provincial monitoring sections were found to have water quality at or above Grade III, an increase of 12.5% year-on-year, with no section worse than Grade V. 100% of centralized drinking water sources in cities at or above prefectural level met the water supply reliability standard. The safe utilization ratio of contaminated land across the city hit 100%, and over 90% of contaminated farmland has been made safe. Yangzhou saw significant progress in combating air, water and land pollution during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.
