50 additional pairs of passenger trains to be run during the Dragon Boat Festival in Yangtze River Delta

According to the recently released passenger transport plan for the Yangtze River Delta railway during the Dragon Boat Festival of 2020, it is estimated that 6.2 million passengers will be transported in total, with 1.55 million passengers on average per day; the peak day is expected to fall on June 25, which is the Dragon Boat Festival, on which 1.85 million passengers is likely to be transported.

The transportation period of this year’s Dragon Boat Festival lasts from June 24 to 27. The railway passenger flow in the Yangtze River Delta features tourism and family visit, and the tourist flow is expected to be mainly in and around the province. It is expected to send 960,000 long-distance passengers and 5.24 million short-distance passengers, with the latter accounting for 74.5% of the total passenger flow.

In order to meet the travel needs of passengers, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has increased its transport capacity for key areas and popular destinations, and another 50 pairs of passenger trains will be run on the basis of the mapped peak lines. The railway services remind passengers of good personal hygiene and protection during the trip and coordination with the railway services to implement epidemic prevention measures in railway stations and on trains for a safe and healthy travel environment.
