Another Jiangsu Medical Team Ready to Go on Mission Overseas

After four months of training, members of the 29th Jiangsu Medical Team to Zanzibar, the 15th Jiangsu Medical Team to Guyana and the 15th Jiangsu Medical Team to Malta had their graduation ceremony on 25 June, getting ready to deliver medical aid to foreign countries. Vice Governor Chen Xingying presented flags to the medical teams and delivered a speech.

Chen said that delivering medical aid to foreign countries was a significant part of China’s participation in global health action and governance, and in building a human community of a shared future. It was the most well-received and long-lasting foreign aid program initiated by China that benefited the largest population. All members shall earnestly follow the important guidance of President Xi Jinping, serve the overall Chinese diplomacy, carry on the legacy of Chinese medical services to foreign countries as of “devoting oneself in saving lives and curing the wounded with great humanitarian spirit”, go all out to enhance Chinese medical aid to foreign countries and create an enabling international environment for the building of socialism with Chinese characteristics in a new era.  

The three medical teams altogether consist of 43 members dispatched from 10 hospitals including Jiangsu People’s Hospital, Jiangsu TCM Hospital, No.2 Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University, Jiangsu Hospital of Combined Western Medicine and TCM, and Hospital Affiliated to Xuzhou Medical University. They will leave for the aid- recipient countries on 5 July for a one-year medical aid mission.
