In his remarks, Vice Governor Wang noted, with the extension and deepening of our exchanges, the trade ties between Jiangsu and Macao and Portuguese–speaking countries are tightened. In the first eight months this year, the total trade volume between Jiangsu and Macao and Portuguese–speaking countries exceeded 10 billion dollars. Our two-way investment has become more active. So far, Macao and Portuguese–speaking countries have invested 700 projects in Jiangsu, and Jiangsu has invested in 101 projects and programs in Macao and Portuguese–speaking countries. Our areas of cooperation have been expanded, with fruitful results achieved in investment as well as in the work by the six teams for promoting industrial cooperation in trade, education, agriculture, tourism, marine fishery and infrastructure. There are more and more exchanges of personnel, and leaders and diplomatic envoys to China of Portuguese–speaking countries have become our regulars. We hope Jiangsu and Macao and Portuguese–speaking countries will take the business summit as a platform, emphasize establishment and improvement of mechanisms, amplify cooperation effects, expand industrial capacity cooperation, complement our strengths and strengthen cultural exchanges to promote people-to-people connectivity, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and jointly create business opportunities for shared development.
